چکیده

A hyperbolic model for chemotaxis and chemosensitive movement in one space dimension is considered. In contrast to parabolic models for chemotaxis the hyperbolic model allows us to take the dependence of the particle speed on external stimuli explicitly into account. This qualitatively covers recent experiments on chemotaxis in which it has been shown that particles adapt their speed to the surrounding environment. The model presented here consists of two hyperbolic differential equations of first order coupled with an elliptic equation. We assume Ž . that the speed depends on the external stimulus only and not on its gradients . In that case solutions with steep gradients are expected which have the interpretation

Existence of at least three weak solutions for a quasilinear elliptic system

In this paper, applying two theorems of Ricceri and Bonanno, we will establish the existence of three weak solutions for a quasilinear elliptic system. Indeed, we will assign a differentiable nonlinear operator to a differential equation system such that the critical points of this operator are weak solutions of the system. In this paper, applying two theorems of R...

A novel existence and uniqueness theorem for solutions to FDEs driven by Lius process with weak Lipschitz coefficients

This paper we investigate the existence and uniqueness of solutions to fuzzydierential equations driven by Liu's process. For this, it is necessary to provideand prove a new existence and uniqueness theorem for fuzzy dierential equationsunder weak Lipschitz condition. Then the results allows us to considerand analyze solutions to a wide range of nonlinear fuzzy dierential equationsdriven by Liu...

Approximation of Hyperbolic Models for Chemosensitive Movement

Numerical methods with different orders of accuracy are proposed to approximate hyperbolic models for chemosensitive movements. On the one hand, firstand second-order wellbalanced finite volume schemes are presented. This approach provides exact conservation of the steady state solutions. On the other hand, a high-order finite difference weighted essentially nonoscillatory (WENO) scheme is cons...

Existence of Solutions of the Hyperbolic Keller-segel Model

We are concerned with the hyperbolic Keller-Segel model with quorum sensing, a model describing the collective cell movement due to chemical signalling with a flux limitation for high cell densities. This is a first order quasilinear equation, its flux depends on space and time via the solution to an elliptic PDE in which the right-hand side is the solution to the hyperbolic equation. This mode...
